Texas Panhandle
. He helped found
Adobe Walls
, fired a
buffalo rifle
shot at the
Second Battle of Adobe Walls
, and for his actions at the Buffalo Wallow Fight became one of eight civilians to be awarded the U.S.
Medal of Honor
.
