Item Description:Response of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina to the circular from the Grand Lodge of South Carolina (Walgren 507), proposing to hold a convention of "the several grand lodges in the Union" in the city of Washington. The response, preceded by a copy of the circular, is dated Dec. 11, 1801, and includes the resolution "that the establishment of a Supreme Continental Grand-Lodge, on antient Masonic principles, is an object extremely desirable, necessary and proper."
Followed by a list of officers of the Grand Lodge of North Carolina for 1802, and a list of 43 lodges under its jurisdiction.
