Boston, August 1, 1786 Being just on the point of embarking for France, I take the liberty of addressing you on the subject. Many persons having expressed their wishes for an establishment there of some person thoroughly conversant in the manufactures suitable for this continent, fixed in or near the capital, where purchases are always made on the most advantageous terms.
