Plaintiff seeks to recover a slave called Lewis from the defendant. Nehemiah Hundley had given his daughter Susan Pemberton, wife of Edmund Pemberton a slave called Abigail. Susan Pemberton died and Edmund remarried. The slave in question was the son of Abigail.
